A Web site for 40% of the .fr, and you?
According to a study done by the AFNIC, 40% of the private holders of .fr domain names use it as a channel for content diffusion. These domain names are linked to either a blog either a personal site.

It can also be noted that 17 % of the holders of this extension redirect it to another existing site, which already belongs to them. This technique aims to increase the audience generated by their Internet site.

Tips for a good positioning
The referencing of your website is influenced by "SEO". This stands for Search Engine Optimization. The goal of this technique is to improve the position of a website in the results of a search engine like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.

In general, the position of a site can be considered as being good if the site appears within the first 10 results for a query on a keyword that is related to the website's content.

Key factors for a good positioning:

• The use of keywords in your Page Title (The Title Tag is the title of your webpage, visible in the top bar of your browser, such as Internet Explorer, etc.)
• The use of "Anchor Text" of your inbound links (This is the visible text of a hyperlink, meaning the text that a visitor clicks on to visualize the content of the link.)
• The popularity of your site, measured by the amount of links towards your site.
• The age of your site (A site which exists for a certain time, gets a certain credibility).
• The amount and the quality of the links that together form the internal structure of your site.

IDN domain name. What does it mean?
IDN means Internationalized Domain Names. The IDN groups all the domain names containing an unspecified linguistic characteristic, such as accents, special ideograms or characters.

This concept was set up to avoid that companies, trademark holders and individuals have to translate their names into web-compatible characters to be able to deposit their domain name. The goal is that they can register their names with their own linguistic characteristics.
